Alba plc, one of Europe's leading suppliers of consumer electronics signed a major contract with ATMS in 2003 to implement the ATMS StockTrack PLUS Warehouse Management System within the group

Alba brands include Bush, Goodmans, Hinari, Power Devil, Breville, JCB Powertools and Roadstar. In the UK the Group has three major distribution centres together with several satellite warehouses.

The first system is installed at Group's brand new Cortonwood warehouse. This 140,000 square feet state of the art facility has a capacity for over 27,000 pallets, with narrow aisle racking 15-metres high. Pallet throughput is 700 plus per day.

Flexibility

Mark Taylor,  Logistics Director of Alba, said: “We looked at all the key players in the WMS market place ATMS stood out in terms of professionalism, experience, strategic direction and value for money. We were impressed with their StockTrack PLUS product it is modern, easy to use and extremely flexible the one system can cater for our complete range of warehousing operations, from the new palletised warehouse through to our replacement parts operation.

Jon Plank, IT   Director of Alba, added that: “The technology ATMS use is very robust and flexible, we intend to make full use of the ATMS WebSpeed facility for web access to the system. We will also be using the EDI (electronic data interchange) and XML (extensible mark-up language) messaging that the ATMS DataHub provides.
